1,000 Medicare enrollees, a low rate of deaths from cardiovascular
disease at 224.6 deaths per 100,000 population and a low rate of
cancer deaths at 153.7 deaths per 100,000 population.
Challenges:
Challenges include a high prevalence of binge drinking at 17.5
percent of the population, low immunization coverage with 80.1
percent of children ages 19 to 35 months receiving complete
immunizations, limited access to adequate prenatal care with 66.1
percent of pregnant women receiving adequate prenatal care and a
high incidence of infectious disease at 21.5 cases per 100,000
population.
