of obesity at 22.9 percent of the population and a low prevalence
of smoking at 18.2 percent of the population.
Challenges:
Challenges include a high rate of uninsured population at 20.9
percent, low immunization coverage with 74.8 percent of children
ages 19 to 35 months receiving complete immunizations, limited
access to primary care with 92.4 primary care physicians per
100,000 population and limited access to adequate prenatal care
with 67.6 percent of pregnant women receiving adequate prenatal
care. Arizona ranks lower for health determinants than for health
outcomes, indicating that overall healthiness may decline over
time.
